La cantante ha aparecido recientemente en los tabloides británicos en situaciones polémicas relacionadas con el consumo de drogas. Amy Winehouse ha sido relacionada con problemas de adicción a las drogas y el alcohol. El escándalo explotó cuando dieron públicamente la noticia de que su marido Blake Fielder había sido encarcelado. Ante esta noticia, le sucedió otra en la que se anunciaba que Amy había decidido que si no dejaban a su esposo en libertad, ella se suicidaría. Actualmente, se encuentra en rehabilitación por su adicción a las drogas. Su entrada al centro se produjo después que el periodico "The Sun" publicara un video de la cantante consumiendo diversas drogas.
